• "I CREATE CONTEMPORARY ABSTRACT AND SEMI-ABSTRACT PAINTINGS THAT FEATURE DYNAMIC COLOUR, TEXTURE AND MOVEMENT, INSPIRED BY A LOVE OF NATURE AND LANDSCAPE."

  • LAURA FISHMAN

American Artist Laura Fishman earned her BFA in Painting from the State University of New York, New Paltz. It was here she studied with Abstract Expressionist Joop Sanders, (friend and apprentice of Willem de Kooning) and Hudson River Valley landscape artist, Alex Martin. She continued her studies in textile design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and earned her MA Fine Art at Middlesex University, London.

Laura’s primary motivation has been the natural world, fueled by her passion for materials. With bold brushstrokes, drips and pours, Laura connects with the viewer through the language of colour and paint to convey her experiences. She gravitates toward the abstract in art as it allows her the freedom to interpret the world she sees through her creative lens.

She is active with artist communities, exhibitions and associations in the UK, Europe and the United States. Laura currently lives and works in London, is a GOLDEN Artist Materials educator and is Art Curator at Stephens House & Gardens, Finchley.
